artemis.

My artemis,

The soft glow of the moon that emanates from your milky skin beckons me closer. It intoxicates me. Reminds me that living is a blessing but living with you by my side is ever-fulfilling. You excite me with those doe-eyes of yours. They gaze up at me and give me a glimpse of galaxies that span further than the lifetimes we’ve been apart.

My first memory of you echoes, not reality, but the way I was enraptured by your otherworldly presence. Forgive me, for it took awhile for me to appreciate the deity that you are. But this love we bask in has reinvented time and birthed memories that transcend the physical to weave scenes of serenity.

My first memory is of you bathing in the cool of a lake, the moon a beacon drawn to you and only you. I watched from the shadows as you stood there, fingers outstretched, watching water spill back into the dark oasis you were submerged in. The curve of your back enticed me as you waded through the water, a delicate hand slowly running through wet strands. As you raised your head to observe the night sky, a slender neck beckoned the presence of my touch, of my desire.

You were a forbidden creature. Yet, I found myself intrigued and dangerously so.

The forest whispered in tongues only you seemed to understand. I realised this the moment faith possessed me to step beyond the tree line and into your ephemeral haven. Your head cocked to the side and before I had time to turn back a silky voice anchored me to the spot.

You sounded curious as to who I was but didn’t deny my presence in your sanctuary. After a few beats you turned to face me, in all your vulnerability. Your eyes closed, framed by dark lashes, a sign of trust you knew me to be of no harm.

I cautiously took a step towards you, enchanted by your form, contoured arms a testament to your archery skills, an iridescent glow beneath your skin and tender breasts lain awaiting.

With bated breath my feet brushed against the grass, my hands gliding over the ties of my garments, letting each piece float past me. I wished to move silently so as to not disturb you but the blood pulsing through my veins and the cloud of yearning that had descended upon me gave me one sole purpose.

My feet touched the shores of the lake,, the warmth of spring beckoning me further into the dark oasis. Still partially submerged, you were a luminous figure etched in peace, eyes still quietly shut. I took a breath of courage and slowly eased into water, letting myself be guided closer to you by the energies that whispered in my ear of a fulfilled desire of both soul and flesh.

As I stood before you, hand raised to caress your pliant cheek, your eyes fluttered open. And those eyes drew me into undiscovered galaxies, each giving me a glimpse of a life where fate had struggled to intertwine our threads. And finally here we stood. Two souls reunited.

Now, my artemis. The beauty of the moon resides within you. Let me revere her.
